The ace cinema Director and Producer Maniratnam is planning to make a movie out of Kalki�s popular novel Ponniyin Selvan. Kalki`s epic novel �Ponniyin Selvan� is one of the most read novels. Ponniyin Selvan about the Heroics Vandhiya Thevan the hero of the story and his sublime love with Kundavai scholarly sister of Arulmozhivarman , more popularly as Rajaraja Chola - one of the Greatest Kings in Tamil history who ruled in the 10th - 11th century AD. Ponniyin Selvan was a very popular serial in Kalki, a Tamil weekly �.It was written by R. Krishnamurthy better known as Kalki. The Novel was published as a book in five volumes. The film is expected be a high budgeted one. Writer Jaya Mohan is likely to write the script for the movie.
