16000 people sleep in streets in Chennai

In the recent study, shocking news has been revealed. 16,000 people are sleeping in the streets and pavements. Around 4000 people dwell in the streets in the areas of Parrys Corner, Royapuram, Perimedu, Tondiarpet and Washermanpet.
 
Slum Clearance Board has built houses for those who dwell in the streets at Kannagi Nagar. Similarly for other people who dwell in the streets, there are 28 night dwelling places. 
 
In spite of this people continue to stay in the pavements. Staying in the streets is on rise. In the recent Parrys Corner accident, Chinnaponnu and Sagunthala died. They have government allotted house in Kannagai Nagar. In the recent times, there is also rise in people dying due to accidents.
 
In a year at least 5 people who dwell in the pavements die and 20 injured due to accidents.
