A press release from the Tamil Nadu state Slum Clearance Board informs that Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, �Child-line India�, & the central government have jointly introduced a new �24-hours� telephone service number � �1098� � to help the children of the residents of Kannagi Nagar & Ezhil Nagar, comprising of over 1 lakh population with 21656 families!
�1098� telephone service can be used by the children from other areas like Guindy, Uthandi, St. Thomas Mount, Meenambakkam, & Sholinganallur.
This service provides general counselling, immediate medical consultation, and other helps. If required, the children can also be referred to the Child Welfare Board.
