It is scorching hot in Chennai and because of this Chennaites should be very cautious of dehydration. Dehydration is a serious risk in the coming months and water and traditional coolants like buttermilk are the optimum solution
Some of the points to be noted to avoid dehydration are
� Doctors� advice against consuming food high in sugar, or salt, including soft drinks.
� Glucose is not advisable
� Drink lots of tender coconut, buttermilk and water.
� Eat fruits
� Have ragi (a millet) porridge or rice soaked in water overnight, with raw onions and curds, every morning
� Eat plenty of watermelon and sprouts this time of the year.
� Take plenty of buttermilk with a small quantity of rice and a vegetable salad for lunch.
