Sanitary napkins to be sold at Trichy bus terminus

Trichy central bus terminus has devised plans to sell sanitary napkins for the first time in the entire state. This will be made available with an automated machine inside women�s toilet. The toilet will also have napkin deteriorating arrangements as well. An exclusive women�s toilet is being constructed within the terminus.
Though in Tamil Nadu, we have similar facilities in schools, colleges and other places, such an arrangement is missing in bus terminus, and Trichy stands as pioneer in it.
This is believed to be of great help for women those who regularly take buses, and during their long journey. It is to be noted that there are several troubles caused due to random throw of napkins in public toilets. As a move to resolve the issue, the Trichy public transportation department has come forward with a new deteriorating system.
Speaking to the health professionals of the department, they say this move is made taking under consideration the difficulties faced by women. Similar machines are available at schools and couple of other common places, but we have tried it in a bus terminus. The price of one napkin will be Rs 5, he added.
