- Taking large quantities of food items which are not easily digestible
- Starving
- Not taking food on proper time and eating late breakfast/lunch/dinner
- Drinking very hot beverages (tea, coffee)
- Eating when the food items are very hot
- Eating spicy food with strong masala
- Failure to include nutritious items in the food (especially persons with germs in the liver)
- Taking alcoholic beverages, smoking, chewing tobacco at excessive levels
- Taking unclean food items contaminated with small stones, dirt, and dust
- Taking medicines for long periods without consulting the doctor
- Suffering from extensive anxiety, mental tension and anger
Recommended food habits
- Avoid coffee & tea
- Give up totally habits of drinking alcoholic beverages & smoking
- Take food at proper time regularly
- Avoid extremely spicy food items
- Drink tender coconut or buttermilk at short intervals especially during summer.
- Include manathakkali keerai & agathi keerai (variety of greens) regularly in the menu.
- Include easily digestible items like young brinjal & okra, plantain flower, plantain stem, and young snake gourd.
- Fruits which help digestion like bananas and apple juice may be included in the daily menu.
