Tamil Nadu state governments Statistics department Chief Secretary, Mr. V. Iraianbu advised that it is very essential to spend 2 hours of study in the library for the candidates to be successful in the Civil Services Examinations.

Those who have completed degree courses can also apply to write these examinations. The candidates should be of minimum 21 years of age. The graduates from Arts courses are not eligible to write the IFS (Forest Services) examinations. The marks/grades obtained in the graduation course will not be of much help to be successful in this examination.

The marks obtained in the Primary Examination, Main Examination, and the interviews conducted by UPSC will decide your success or quality.

Even the loss of 1 mark scored in the examination may lead to the loss of a appointment at a higher level. The students who have completed through Distance Education can also apply.

The answers written should be closely relevant to the questions asked. The students should also keep abreast of the external affairs policy of the country.
