Riviera 2015 in VIT from today

G. Viswanathan, VIT Chancellor said that the annual international cultural and sports carnival is to be held on the VIT campus from February 5 to 8.Riviera 2015 will be inaugurated by former India cricket captain Krishnamachari Srikanth on Thursday.
A cultural parade called �Aikya� (unity) showcasing the cultures of various communities such as Tamils, Malayalis, Telugus, Rajasthanis, Bengalis, Gujaratis, Assamese, Marathis, Manipuris, Punjabis and the people of Uttar Pradesh would be held on the streets of the VIT to highlight the cultural diversity in the VIT.
A marathon would be organised from VIT to Virudhambut and back to VIT beginning 6.30 a.m. on Thursday to highlight �Swachh Bharat Abhiyan� (Clean India campaign).
On the first day (Feb.5) include �Style Check,� a fashion show which will be judged by dancer Prince Khorana and actress Janine Ayer.
The events on the second day (Feb.6) would include singing of film songs by playback singers Asunder Das, Suresh Peters and Benny Deal. �Frisk Factor� (dance competition) to be judged by Ash Bhatt (Miss India 2014).
A classical fusion dance by Indian band �Indian Ocean� would be the highlights of the third day (Feb.7). Shaida Mohammad Abdali, Ambassador of Afghanistan to India, will be distributing prizes to winners of competitions on that day.
Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor will be delivering the valedictory address on February 8. Desire Koumba, Ambassador of Gabon to India, would be participating in the valedictory function.
