Chennai District Collector, Ms. A. Sundaravalli, has announced that unemployed youth can apply to the state government for financial assistance.

The unemployed youth who have completed SSLC/+2/Graduation and registered in the Employment exchange and remaining jobless awaiting appointments can apply for financial assistance. They have to approach the Chennai District Employment Exchange Office at Santhome, Chennai.
The unemployed youth who have not passed 10th Standard can approach the District employment exchange for unskilled labour at Nandanam, Chennai.
The applicants should have registered in the employment exchange with continuous renewal for a period of 5 years and should be of age under 40 years.
This age limit is extended to 45 years for candidates who belong to Adidravids/SC/ST.
Applicants should not be employed in the private sector or be self-employed and their family annual income should not exceed Rs. 50,000/-.
The applicants should qualify conditions prescribed the state government.
There are no limits set for candidates who are differently-abled. There are no qualifications requirement and also no limits on annual family income.
They should have registered in the employment exchange for 1 year and approach the special employment exchange for differently-abled located the Women�s technical training Institute Complex in Guindy.
