Tamil Nadu government to import fertilisers to overcome the shortage

Agriculture officials have informed that fertilisers will be imported from other nearby states to overcome the prevailing acute shortage.
Currently, Tamil Nadu requires 1.60 Lakh tons of fertiliser. However, there is a stock of only 30000 tons. As an immediate preventive measure, 10000 tons of fertilisers are procured daily from the cities of Kakinada and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
