1, 00,819 engineering seats vacant

As many as 1,00,819 seats in engineering colleges have fallen vacant at the end of supplementary counselling to fill seats under the Scheduled Caste quota on Wednesday and Thursday. Through single window counseling, which began on July 7, only 97,333 have been allotted of the 1,97,361 seats in the 507 self-financing colleges. According to the data on Anna University�s website, as of Thursday, three vacancies were available in government colleges and 788 in the 13 constituent colleges/regional centres.
