Andhra Pradesh Minister for Hindu Religious Endowment, Mr.Manikbala informed that steps will be taken to ensure Darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirupathi within 2 hours of wait.
Currently, it takes between 2 to 5 hours for a Darshan of the Lord during normal days. However, during weekends and festival days or holidays, the devotees wait between 10 to 15 hours for Darshan.
During the festival of Brahmotsavam or during the summer vacations, there are occasions where the devotees have to wait for even 24 hours.
To counter this problem, 3-line devoteesďż˝ queues have been implemented. This has facilitated the devotees to have Darshan without any jostling, pulling or pushing among the crowd of devotees. However, there is no change in the waiting period.
The minister informed:
The devotees at Tirupathi are forced to wait for long hours for a Darshan of the Lord. Discussions were held with officials to find steps for reducing this waiting period.
Immediate steps are being taken to reduce the waiting period to just 2 hours withing the next month.
