Wall collapse kills 11 workers in Chennai
After the recent building collapse at Moulivakkam in Chennai which killed 61 people, eleven construction workers were killed Sunday the boundary wall of a warehouse collapsed.The laborers had built lean-tos and shacks near the wall that came down before dawn after heavy rains.
One worker was hospitalized in a village in Tamil Nadu state`s Thiruvallur district. An official said the cause of the collapse would be investigated.
The accident came eight days after an 11-story building under construction collapsed in Tamil Nadu`s capital, Chennai, killing more than 61 people. Police have arrested six construction company officials for alleged criminal negligence and violation of building codes in that incident.
