Fire safety awareness programme for the public

St.John Safety and Health Society and SSI Development Society organized  a Fire Safety awareness programme for the benefit of the public here. It was targeted at the people living in high rise buildings .The programme was meant  improve preparedness in the event of any accident. R Nataraj . Director Fire and Rescue Services Director released a hand book on the occasion. While speaking Nataraj mentioned that most high density establishments in the city are not safe. He suggested that the managers of the high rise buildings should conduct regular awareness drill in their buildings. He further said that 70% of the fire accidents happen due to electrical short circuit.
