Deadline Extended till 31 May for the Issuance of Application forms under RTE Act!
The closing date for the issuance of the application forms for 25% seats set aside under the RTE quota has been stretched till 31 May.
Previously, the last date was 18 May. On Saturday, a meeting of schools has been set up in all district headquarters to have a check on the count of the issued application forms and also to ensure the position of the execution of the terms.
About 25% of the seats have to set aside for children�s from weaker segments of the society and deprived groups.
In Chennai, a meeting drive has been carried out and that involves 260 matriculation schools, 345 nursery and primary schools, the directorates of School Education, Matriculation schools and Elementary Education.
Schools were demanded for the info on the count of entry-level general seats, 25% intake and the sum of application forms given out, said an official.
The forms can be put forward at the schools, and also in the inspector of matriculation schools offices and offices of the District Educational Officer, Chief Educational Officer, and District Elementary Educational Officer.
Schools which take part in the meeting issued nearly 1,700 application forms under RTE Act, as on Saturday. The number from individual schools will be revealed on Monday, the official said.
