Botany department of Pachiyappa�s college organized an International Conference on Medicinal Plants and Herbal Drugs. The conference aims to explore the challenges and opportunities in their conservation. Prof S Madhavan from University of Nebraska, Lincoln, USA was the Chief Guest. About 300 students from all over India and from Countries like USA, Taiwan Participated. More 200 papers were presented. It was highlighted that more than 8000 plant species are there in India that have medicinal value
