Property Buyers Aware to Settle Seller�s Levies to EB � High Court Order

Property buyers before applying for a new electricity connection, they need to settle any levy electricity bills left unpaid by the past property owner, new rule framed by the Madras High Court.

This rule has been framed by the Justice D. Hariparanthaman. He instructed the TamilNadu Electricity Board chairman to hand out circulars to all his underlying engineers, so as to make sure that the decision is imposed consistently without any indistinctness.

Previously, stating the �Buyers Be Cautious� principle, TNEB counsel team including SMS Johnny Basha and S Srimathy explained the work surface that rule reflects that the buyer ought to be careful ahead of purchasing a property.

During 2007, Pudukkotai- rooted Omni Fusion Technologies, acquired 6.72 acre property from two enterprises which are based on high-tension tune-up networking traders. Omni Fusion was shocked when he applied for the new electricity connection, the TNEB has rejected the request stating that the past owners has left unpaid the EB bill amount of Rs.82 lakhs.

Hence, the Omni Fusion summons petition has been filed in the court. On snubbing the acquiescenceďż˝s, Justice Hariparanthaman says that the terms and conditions were roofed under the new Act and thus the Board was lawfully defensible in creating plead for reconciling the dues.
