After summer vacation, most of the schools are getting reopens on 2 June, 2014. Across TamilNadu, after school reopens students will be getting free bus passes.
Students of
Government and Government-aided Schools will be getting the free bus passes.
Usually, it will take at least 2 months of time for the officials to issue the
bus passes to the government school students. Until that time, students need to
spend their own money so as to travel in the buses.
In order to avoid
this difficulty, during this academic year the transport department has planned
and made all arrangements for the issuance of the bus passes at once the school
reopens.
Below furnished is
the detailed info given by the department officials:
Tender has been
advertised, for the bus passes issuance task. Once after the poll results,
tender has been finalized and work will get started soon.
Even before the
school opens, all the chief education officers and principals of the schools are
requested to get the application forms for the bus passes from the respective
zone transport association offices.
After schools open, students will soon fill up their forms to get the passes. Last year nearly 25 lakhs students got their bus passes and this year the target of the officials is to increase this count to be 27 lakhs, officials stated.
