Madras High court has finally asked the authorities to initiate action against those persons who prefix �Dr� to their names without valid medical degree or approval from IMA. Most of the Paramedical Technicians, Physiotherapist prefix �Dr� to their names. Passing orders on a writ petition filed by Indian Medical Association�s Quackery Eradication Committee , the first bench comprising Chief Justice H L Gokhale and Justice KK Sasidharan said that IMA must furnish detail of persons who abuse the termed� by prefixing it to their names. The bench simultaneously asked the authorities to take stringent action against people who use �Dr� without valid Medical degree and license.
