Tamil Nadu Chief Minister who was away from office for more than a month came back to her office after the Tamil Nadu general elections were done.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa returned to the state secretariat and spent 40 minutes in her chamber in the afternoon.
She returned after 51 days of gruelling campaigning. �She was cheerful,� official sources said. After a brief photo op with actor Nalini�s family, the chief minister met chief secretary Mohan Varghese Chunkath and former chief secretary Sheela Balakrishnan. Her cabinet colleagues, including B Valarmathi, B V Ramana, T K M Chinnayya, Abdul Rahim, M C Sampath, V Moorthy and Mukkur N Subramanian, were also at the secretariat.
The chief minister is expected to leave for Kodanad in the Nilgiris on Sunday and work from there. Tamil Nadu legislative assembly will meet for business from the first week of June, especially to debate the demands for grants for each of the departments for the current fiscal year. CM is expected to stay in the hill station till then. Other ministers who were campaigning in the constituencies will be back in the secretariat from Monday.
