Eye surgery live streamed to US University
Alive glued intraocular lens (IOL) surgery, an innovative technique, performed by Dr Amar Agarwal of Agarwal Eye Hospitals was live-streamed from Chennai to a symposium held at Georgetown University in Washington DC on Saturday.
More than 200 ophthalmologists from the US who had gathered to attend a major CME programme �During cataract surgery in complex cases� watched the new technique. It is used to rectify cataract in people who have had a serious eye injury, especially victims of bomb blast or fireworks injuries.
