Even though the Chennai city ranks itself in top five midst the world of automobile sector, old Maruti 800 still remains indisputable.
Despite the car maker stopped its production of Maruti Suzuki in January 2014, high level of consumers in Chennai have been buying and selling the classic model- M800, as per the report.
As M800, didn�t meet the BS-IV emission norms, sale of M800 have been already discontinued in 13 cities since April 2010.
According to the study, conducted among eight cities in India, revealed that both the Maruti and TATA from the rear door topped charts as the most favored second-hand car brands with an evenly high demand and supply.
Various parameters involved in influencing the second-hand car purchase include:
- Year of Buying
- Condition of the car and the engine
- Model of the car
- Mileage
- Past history
- Brand name and customer�s budget
- Car�s Fuel type
Nearly about 57 % customers have been opting for petrol cars, in comparison to the 43 % who opted for diesel cars. The survey found that the online media played a major role in influencing the final buying decision when buying a used car.
