Central Budget ďż˝ TV, Fridge prices down by Rs. 1000/- Innova (car) price down by Rs. 75,000/-

The Finance Minister, Mr. P. Chiambaram presented the budget with importance to the upcoming Parliamentary Elections pleasing the public with reduction in prices for certain items.
The prices of 10 items are reduced:
- Small cars, scooters & motorbikes �Excise duty reduced to 8% from 12%. Effective reduction for 2 wheelers � Rs.1,200/-).Small cars (Nano) 12,000/-. Maruti Alto � Rs. 12,000/-. Maruti Swift - Rs. 18,000/- to Rs. 24,000/-. Hyundai � Rs. 23,000/-.
- Excise Duty for racing cars reduced from 30% to 24%.
- Big Cars ďż˝ Excise Duty reduced from 27% to 24%. (Reduction for various brands from Rs. 24,000/- to Rs. 42,000/-).
- Toyota Innova ďż˝ reduction by Rs.75,000/-. Mercedes GL Class ďż˝ Rs. 2,00,000/-. Audi Q7 Rs. 3.8 Lakhs/-
- Medium Class cars ďż˝ Excise duty reduced from 24% to 20%.
- Commercial Vehicles ďż˝ Excise duty reduced from 12% to 8%.
- Consumer items (TV, Refrigerator, Air-conditioner, Computer, Digital Camera, Printer) ďż˝ Price reduced by Rs. 1000/-.
- Mobile phones ďż˝ Production Tax reduced to 6%.
- Tax on soaps reduced.
- Service Tax on rice reduced.
- Service tax on Blood Banks withdrawn.
