Tamil Nadu Schools: No Special Classes During Quarterly Holidays

The quarterly examinations in schools began on September 17 and are scheduled to conclude on September 25. Students will have a holiday from September 26 to October 4.

The School Education Department has instructed schools not to call students to school or conduct special classes during the quarterly vacation. The move is intended to give students a break from academic pressure after completing their examinations.

The instruction is reportedly being followed in government schools. However, some aided and private schools are not fully adhering to the directive, according to teachers. In some cases, students have reportedly been asked to attend school during the vacation in regular clothes.

Teachers have urged education officials to take appropriate action against schools that violate the government’s instructions and conduct special classes during the declared quarterly holiday.
