Indian Indoor Sports Foundation Meets Mrs. Latha Rajinikanth to Promote Indoor Cricket Development in Tamil Nadu

A delegation from the Indian Indoor Sports Foundation (IISF) and the Tamil Nadu Indoor Cricket Association (TNICA) met Mrs. Latha Rajinikanth, Founder Correspondent of Ashram Group of Schools, at her residence in Chennai to discuss the development and promotion of Indoor Cricket among school students across Tamil Nadu.

The meeting was led by Mr. Prasanna Kumar, General Secretary, Indian Indoor Sports Foundation, and Dr. Dhanajeyan Jayavel, Joint Secretary & Trustee, Indian Indoor Sports Foundation, and Founder & Managing Director of Spectrum Physio Centre.

The delegation included Tamil Nadu Indoor Cricket Association office bearers Mr. Rathna, Mr. Karthik, and Mr. Prakash, along with Physical Education Teacher Mr. Girish and former cricketer and advisor Mr. Suresh Krishna.

Appreciation for Young Talent

The team expressed their gratitude to Mrs. Latha Rajinikanth for her continued encouragement of sports and youth development. During the meeting, the delegation also acknowledged and appreciated the achievement of a student selected to represent India in the upcoming Junior Indoor Cricket Series in South Africa, scheduled from 23 September to 5 October 2026.

The Indian contingent will travel from Delhi and compete against international teams, providing young Indian athletes with valuable global exposure and competitive experience.

Discussion on Indoor Cricket Infrastructure

A key focus of the discussion was the possibility of introducing and developing Indoor Cricket programs within educational institutions under the Ashram Group of Schools. The delegation presented the vision of establishing structured Indoor Cricket training pathways and exploring opportunities for future Indoor Cricket arenas and facilities within school campuses.

The IISF leadership highlighted the growing popularity of Indoor Cricket globally and the organization’s mission to create opportunities for young athletes through grassroots development, national championships, and international participation.

Commitment to Sports Development

Mrs. Latha Rajinikanth appreciated the efforts of the Indian Indoor Sports Foundation in promoting Indoor Cricket and creating international opportunities for Indian students. The discussions centered on encouraging sports participation, nurturing young talent, and integrating Indoor Cricket into school sports programs.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dhanajeyan Jayavel stated:

“Indoor Cricket provides an excellent platform for young athletes to develop fitness, teamwork, and competitive skills. We look forward to working with educational institutions to create more opportunities for students across Tamil Nadu and India.”

Mr. Prasanna Kumar added:

“Our vision is to build a strong Indoor Cricket ecosystem in India through schools, academies, and dedicated infrastructure. The support of educational leaders such as Mrs. Latha Rajinikanth will play an important role in achieving this mission.”

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment towards promoting sports excellence, youth participation, and the long-term development of Indoor Cricket across Tamil Nadu and India.
