Chennai Gold Rate Today, August 28, 2026: Gold Falls in Morning, Rises in Evening

Gold prices showed a mixed trend on Friday, falling in the morning and rising again in the evening update.

In the morning update, both 22K and 18K gold prices decreased by ₹75 per gram, while silver fell by ₹5 per gram.

By the evening update, gold prices reversed the trend, with both 22K and 18K gold rates increasing by ₹150 per gram. Silver also rose by ₹5 per gram.

Chennai Gold Rate: Morning vs Evening

22K Gold: Morning ₹14,650 → Evening ₹14,800

18K Gold: Morning ₹12,420 → Evening ₹12,570

Silver: Morning ₹260 → Evening ₹265

Based on the evening 22K gold rate, one sovereign (8 grams) costs approximately ₹1,18,400, excluding GST and jewellery making charges.
