108 Ambulance Service, operated by GVK-Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI), will deploy emergency management technicians for Makarajyothi (January 14) at Sabarimala temple in Kerala. The deployment will be from Dec. 15 to Jan. 15. About one crore pilgrims are expected to congregate during this period.
GVK-EMRI had begun mapping the health care infrastructure in the region. This information would be given to devotees who called the technicians on the 108 line.
The emergency care units would be soon established on the seven-kilometre stretch right from the banks of the Pampa to the Sannidhanam.
The scheme had been launched by the State government of Kerala and GVK-EMRI under the aegis of Kerala State Medical Services Corporation and the Travancore Dewaswom Board, which runs the temple. The Kerala government would provide medicines.
