Wireless communication system for internal usage

The Chennai Corporation has planned to introduce wireless communication system to connect the field staff with mayor and commissioner. During a recent meet, the civic body discussed on the new communication means. Nearly 800 walkie-talkie sets will be set up at a specific frequency for internal communication.
These will be distributed to about two hundred junior engineers, sanitary inspectors, conservancy inspectors, assistant executive engineers etc. It is to be noted that the civic body had already tried using these sets in the vehicles of mayor, superintendent, zonal assistant commissioner and commissioner.
