The Chennai Corporation budget outlines several new initiatives, including a rope car service planned between the Marina Lighthouse and Anna Memorial to improve connectivity and tourism access.
A welfare measure proposes supplying buttermilk to sanitation workers during summer to help them cope with extreme heat conditions.
To support vulnerable groups, the Corporation plans to set up temporary container-based shelters for the homeless at a cost of ₹12 crore.
In addition, infrastructure development includes multi-modal integrated transport hubs worth ₹40 crore to enhance urban mobility and coordination between transport systems.
