The AIADMK, led by Edappadi K Palaniswami, has released the second phase of its election promises ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, focusing on welfare, cost-of-living relief, and social security.
A key announcement is the increase in monthly social security pensions from ₹1,200 to ₹2,000, benefiting senior citizens, destitute widows, unmarried poor women, deserted wives, persons with disabilities, and transgenders.
To ease household expenses, the party has promised three free LPG cylinders per year for all rice ration card-holding families, aimed at reducing cooking fuel costs and promoting clean energy.
Highlighting its focus on education, the AIADMK pledged a complete waiver of student education loans, with the government bearing the cost to reduce financial pressure on families.
The party also announced a support package for Jallikattu, including ₹10 lakh compensation for families of deceased tamers, financial aid for injuries, subsidies for events, and removal of online registration hurdles.
Additional promises include interest-free loans for minority women to support self-employment and loan waivers for differently-abled persons through cooperative banks.
The AIADMK indicated that more phases of the manifesto will follow, addressing jobs, farmers’ welfare, women’s safety, economic growth, and law and order.
