Due to continuous rainfall, the water level in Chembarambakkam Lake has risen to 22 feet, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures. Starting today at 8 AM, 200 cusecs of surplus water will be released from the reservoir as a safety step.
The lake is currently receiving an inflow of 1,330 cusecs, and the water storage has reached 3,110 million cubic feet (mcft) out of its total capacity of 3,645 mcft. Officials are closely monitoring the situation to ensure controlled water management and prevent flooding in downstream areas.
