Depression Near Chennai to Bring Moderate to Heavy Rains for Next 2 Day
The weakened depression (formerly Cyclone Ditwah) has moved closer to the north of Chennai and is expected to hover off the city’s coast for the next two days, according to Tamil Nadu Weatherman. As a result, residents in Chennai and surrounding districts (KTCC region) can expect intermittent rains with varying intensity.
Rain Forecast:
Next 24 Hours: With the depression stationed near Chennai, KTCC districts are likely to see rains throughout the day, gradually intensifying.
Moderate Rainfall: Likely over interior and coastal regions such as Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Delta districts, Madurai, Dindigul, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Trichy, and Pudukottai.
Heavy Rainfall: Possible in KTCC districts (Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu) over the next 24 hours.
Very Heavy/Extreme Rainfall: Not expected.
The system is not expected to intensify further but will continue to feed rain bands across Tamil Nadu as long as it remains close to the coast.
