CMRL to Identify New Land for Parking at OTA - Nanganallur Road Metro Station
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) will now have to look for an alternative land parcel to create a parking facility for the OTA–Nanganallur Road Metro Rail station.
Earlier, land near the station - belonging to a well-known restaurant in Alandur that was recently demolished - had been allotted to CMRL by the Chengalpattu district administration. The allocation came after CMRL requested the site due to the high demand for parking at this station.
However, in a recent development, the district administration has reversed the decision and reassigned the land to the Directorate of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, citing various administrative reasons.
CMRL officials confirmed that they will now begin identifying other suitable plots in the area to expand parking facilities for commuters using the OTA–Nanganallur Road Metro station.
