Heavy Rains Lash Chennai and Suburbs This Evening
Chennai and its suburbs are experiencing widespread heavy rain this evening. An atmospheric circulation over the interior districts of Tamil Nadu has triggered rainfall across many parts of the state.
Earlier today, the weather in Chennai was scorching hot in the morning. However, by evening, heavy showers began in several parts of the city, including Ambattur, Vadapalani, T. Nagar, Nungambakkam, Egmore, Avadi, Villivakkam, Anna Nagar, and Koyambedu.
Suburban areas such as Tambaram, Mudichur, Sholinganallur, Chengalpattu, and surrounding regions are also receiving intense rainfall.
Due to the continuous downpour, rainwater has accumulated on several roads across Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, and Tiruvallur districts, affecting traffic movement in some areas.
Meteorological sources indicate that more rainfall is likely to continue in various parts of Tamil Nadu over the next few hours due to the prevailing atmospheric circulation.
