Firecracker Sale for Diwali Begins on Chennai Island Grounds
In preparation for the Diwali festival, 30 firecracker shops have been set up on the Island Grounds in Chennai to ensure the safe and regulated sale of fireworks. This annual arrangement has been in place for several years to promote safety and proper supervision during the festive season.
The firecracker sale was inaugurated this morning by Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister P.K. Sekarbabu. The shops will remain open for sales until October 21.
To ensure public safety, a fire engine has been stationed on-site, and more than 30 police personnel have been deployed for round-the-clock security and crowd management.
The initiative aims to provide Chennai residents with a safe and convenient environment to purchase firecrackers ahead of the Diwali celebrations.
