Special Diwali Trains Announced Between Bengaluru and Chennai
In a dual initiative to manage the festive rush and ensure passenger safety, the South Western Railway (SWR) and Southern Railway have announced key measures for the Diwali season.
To handle the heavy rush of travelers, SWR will operate special trains between Bengaluru and Chennai on selected dates. Train No. 06255 will depart from KSR Bengaluru at 8:05 AM on October 18, 21, and 25, reaching Chennai Central at 2:45 PM the same day.
For the return journey, Train No. 06256 will leave Chennai Central at 4:30 PM on October 18, 21, and 25, arriving at KSR Bengaluru at 10:45 PM.
The trains will halt at major stations including Yeshwanthpur, K.R. Puram, Bangarapet, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur, and Perambur, offering convenient connectivity for passengers across the route.
Meanwhile, the Southern Railway has issued a strict warning against carrying flammable materials such as firecrackers on trains during the festive season. Officials have cautioned that carrying or lighting firecrackers on trains is a punishable offence under the Railways Act, and strict action will be taken against violators.
These measures aim to ensure smooth travel and enhanced passenger safety during the Diwali celebrations.
