Evening Spike: 22-Carat Gold Reaches Historic High in Chennai

Gold prices in Chennai surged again on Tuesday evening, marking the second increase in a single day. Earlier in the morning, the price of a gold sovereign rose by ₹800, and later in the day, it climbed further by ₹680.
As a result, 22-carat gold is now selling at an all-time high of ₹11,385 per gram, while sovereigns have reached ₹91,080.
Local gold jewellers have noted that this upward trend is expected to continue over the coming days, driven by market demand and global gold price movements. Buyers are being advised to act cautiously amid the rising rates.
