Traffic Diversions Announced for Annai Velankanni Golden Jubilee Celebrations in Besant Nagar
On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Annai Velankanni Tirutala, Besant Nagar, Chennai 2025, the grand flag hoisting ceremony has been planned to be held on Friday, 29.08.2025 and will continue till 08.09.2025. The following traffic diversion will be made if necessary on the following dates: 29.08.2025, 31.08.2025, 01.09.2025, 07.09.2025 & 08.09.2025.
- Vehicles coming from Thiru–Vi–Ka bridge, S.V. Patel Road intending to go to Besant Avenue towards Besant Nagar Bus Terminus are restricted from Aavin Park (ML Park) and can instead use L.B. Road to reach their destination.
- Vehicles will not be allowed to ply towards Annai Velankanni Church from the junction of 7th Avenue and M.G. Road Jn.
- MTC Buses from M.L. Park towards Besant Nagar Bus Terminus through Besant Avenue are restricted and will be diverted Through L.B. Road Left into Shasthri Nagar 1st Avenue Right into Shasthri Nagar 1st Main Road Left into M.G. Road Left into Besant Nagar 1st Main Road Bus Terminus.
- MTC Buses from Besant Nagar Bus Terminus towards Thiruvanmiyur and Adyar Signal will be diverted Through Besant Nagar 1st Avenue Shasthri Nagar 1st Avenue Left into Shasthri Nagar 1st Main Road Right into M.G. Road L.B. Road Destination.
