At a time when the state of Tamil Nadu has been reaching amazing heights with respect to economic growth, the central government has bestowed another crowning jewel for TN now.
The sensational news is that TN has been ranked SECOND in terms of per capita income across the entire India. Based on the statistics from the Ministry of Statistics and planning, the union minister of state for finance has revealed this important piece of information in the Lok Sabha.
The TN government has released a press release. As per the release, The Dravidian model govt of TN chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin has achieved a fantastic achievement. It had achieved the highest growth rate across India with an economic growth rate of 9.69percent in the year 2024-25. This is the highest growth rate achieved by the state of TN in the last 10 years.
It is worthy to note that TN has become the first state in India to achieve this feat due to the innovative scheme introduced by the CM of TN Mr. M.K .Stalin ever since he took over in 2021.
These schemes include
Vidiyal Travel scheme for women with more than 700cr journeys, innovative program to provide Rs 1000per month to 4.95lakh college students, Tamil Pudhalvan scheme that provides Rs 1000 per month to 3.28lakh students. Kalaignar`s Women Right scheme that provides Rs 1000 per month to 1.15 cr housewives, Makkali Thedi Maruthuvam scheme that provides treatment for non-communicable diseases for more than 4cr people, home based education scheme to benefit 95.97 lakhs children out of 660 crores, Kalaignar Kanav Illam scheme that provides Rs 3.5 lakh each to construct homes for poor and needy, Innuyir Kaapome Nammai Kakkum scheme that has saved 1096289 lives at Rs 648.12 cr, Naan Mudhalvan scheme that has helped about 41lakhs students and placed 328391 students in top companies, Investment of more than Rs 10 lakhs accumulated through 895 MOUs and as many as 3204895jobs that would be created through these.
It must be noted that these above said schemes are the foundations for making TN as number one in entire India in terms of economic growth.
According to Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, union minister of state for finance the per capita income at the national levels is Rs 114710 and the state of TN is ranked SECOND in India with Rs 196309. This is higher than the per capita income of India.
