Vinod Nair Begins Tenure as National Vice President of FAIVM with Key Delegation Meet at Vanijya Bhavan
Marking his first official meeting as the National Vice President of the Federation of All India Vyapar Mandal (FAIVM), Mr. Vinod Nair led a high-level delegation to meet the Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, at Vanijya Bhavan, New Delhi.
The meeting addressed pressing challenges in the trading and micro-enterprise sectors, with a strong emphasis on Retail Trade Policy, digital inclusion, and import and certification norms. Minister Goyal, known for his practical understanding of trade dynamics, provided real-time responses and action-oriented solutions to the concerns raised.

Retail Trade Policy & Digital Platforms:
A strong pitch was made for a comprehensive Retail Trade Policy and onboarding small traders onto platforms like ONDC and GeM. Shri Goyal agreed that no onboarding fees should be imposed on small traders, boosting their digital participation.
Advance Payments on Steel Imports (Pre-16 June):
The Minister clarified that such cases would be reviewed on merit, provided proof of advance payment and material specifications are submitted.
BIS Certification for Raw Materials:
Shri Goyal assured that non-Chinese, genuine suppliers would be offered necessary time and support to meet BIS standards.
What stood out was the Minister’s immediate action personally initiating calls to ONDC and GeM CEOs and arranging a meeting with GeM leadership within 30 minutes, showcasing his proactive governance.
