In Tamil Nadu, there has been a significant rise in electricity bill payments made through online platforms. According to the TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board), nearly 70% of consumers now prefer paying their electricity bills online.
In the fiscal year 2024–25, around 9.56 crore transactions were made online, amounting to a record collection of ₹58,285 crore.
