Railways to Introduce e-Aadhaar Authentication for Tatkal Ticket Booking

The Ministry of Railways is set to implement e-Aadhaar authentication for booking Tatkal tickets via the IRCTC website and app, aiming to tackle unauthorized automated bookings, according to Thanthi TV.
Indian Railways has identified around 2.5 crore fake accounts on the IRCTC platform used for bulk ticket bookings. To ensure genuine passengers get confirmed Tatkal tickets during peak demand, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on X (formerly Twitter) that this new verification system will be introduced soon.
The move is expected to enhance ticketing transparency and reduce fraudulent bookings, making it easier for legitimate users to secure Tatkal tickets.
