It has never happened before in the government schools in Tamil Nadu!!

This might be a brilliant idea from the teachers and former students belonging to a government school to attract more students.

It is worth mentioning here that to increase the enrolment of students in the government high school in Ooty in Tamil Nadu, the teachers and former students have announced a superb plan to deposit an amount of Rs 5000 in the bank account for new students who join first grade in this school.`

We are now talking about the Keelur Kokkaladha Government High School located near Ooty in the district of Nilgiris. This school was closed due to low enrolment and was reopened again due to the efforts of teachers and former students and local public etc.

There are 42 students who are studying in this school now.  Truth is that old students, teachers and the public have been making efforts to increase the enrolment in this school. For that, pamphlets (mentioning Rs 5000 to be deposited in the student`s bank account) are being distributed.

It must be taken into account that regardless of the classes that the students join (from 1 to 6) an amount up to Rs 5000 would be deposited in their bank account. For joining class 7, an amount of Rs 4000 would be deposited in the bank account. Likewise, for joining class 8 Rs 3000 would be deposited and Rs 2000 would be deposited in the bank account of the students who join class 9.  Steps have been taken regarding the students receiving their maturity deposit amount after they complete class 10.

With the TN government taking several steps to increase the enrolment of the students in the government schools, the steps or efforts taken by the teachers and former students etc for the sake of Keelur Government High School has been appreciated by parents and public.

The schools have reopened in TN now and Keelur school physical education teacher and few teachers took part in the door-to-door canvassing in areas such as Samraj, Kaikatti, Melur etc and created superb awareness.
