Upgrading 11 municipalities like Kundrathur, Mangadu, Palani, Tiruchengode etc!!
The Tamil Nadu government has issued orders to upgrade 11 municipalities such as Kundrathur, Palani etc.
In this regard, principal secretary of the municipal administration and drinking water supply department Mr. T. Karthikeyan has issued an order.
According to the order, to convert into a landmark municipality or sirappu nilai nagaratchi the annual revenue should be of more than Rs 15 cr. In the same way, to convert into a selection grade municipality or thervu nilai nagaratchi the annual revenue should be up to Rs 15 cr, to convert into first level municipality the annual revenue should be up to Rs 9cr. The annual revenue should be atleast Rs 6 cr to convert into second level municipality
In this situation, the TN government has decided to upgrade 11 municipalities like Tiruchengode, Udumalaipettai, Palani, Kundrathur, Maangadu, Nandhivaram- Guduvanchery, Rameswaram, Palladam, Vellakoil, Ariyalur and Ambasamudram. As per the notification issued in the Legislative Assembly, the TN govt has taken the decision.
Point is that these 11 municipalities are within the revenue prescribed by the state government and they are being upgraded.
