What is happening at the 127 Flower Exhibition inaugurated at Ooty Botanical Gardens?
Summer and Ooty are always associated with each other. It is known that people visit Ooty during the summer season as the place is cool and pleasant. In addition to this, the flower exhibition here has been a huge attraction for the visitors in the past.
Yesterday, 15th May 2025, the chief minister of TN Mr. MK .Stalin made his presence felt at Ooty and he inaugurated the 127th Flower Exhibition at the famous Ooty Botanical Garden. The theme of this flower exhibition is ROYAL.
What is surprising here is the presence of a Royal Castle that has been made with the help of 2lakh flowers. These flowers include roses, chrysanthemums etc. The RoyaL Castle is 75ft in length and 25 ft in height. This has grabbed the attention of many.
Visitors were amazed to see the floral replica of a palace of 70ft in length and 20ft in height. This palace has been made using 1.30 lakh flowers,
It must be noted that as per the theme Royal the flower show has showcased the lifestyle and culture of traditional kingdoms. Annapakshi or divine swan made using 50400 marigold flowers has made many heads turn. The visitors at the botanical park were amazed to witness Kallanai Dam made of 4000 flower pots and decorated with 35000 roses and marigold flowers etc.
It is noteworthy that cultural events are scheduled everyday as a part of the flower show or exhibition. On 25th May, the flower show would come to a close.
