4 crores and 19lakhs textbooks have been printed and ready and will be distributed free for the TN govt school students!!
The school education department has revealed that 4lakh19 lakhs textbooks have been printed and kept ready for free distribution especially for the students belonging to govt and govt aided schools in TN. Soon, these textbooks would be sent to the schools across TN as arrangements have been made.
Every year, for the students studying from class 1 to class 12 in as many as 32000 govt and govt aided schools, the Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation prints and distributes free textbooks is known to us. In this regard, in March 2025, the printing of textbooks started for the school students in TN. The printing work has been completed now. It is now brought out that as many as 214 general subjects textbooks and 281 minority textbooks have been printed.
Of the total textbooks, about 2crore 72 lakhs textbooks would be distributed free of cost for those students studying in various govt and govt aided schools in TN. Moreover, 1crore 47lakhs textbooks have been printed for sale purpose.
It is noteworthy that the free textbooks would be sent to the schools in the second or third week of May. After the schools reopen in the June month, the textbooks would be distributed to the students belonging to the govt and govt aided schools across the state.
