Special MEMU Trains for Karthigai Deepam Announced by Southern Railway
To manage the increased passenger flow during the Karthigai Deepam festival, Southern Railway has introduced special MEMU Express trains between Villupuram Junction and Tiruvannamalai. These trains will run from December 12 to December 16, 2024. The service from Villupuram Junction to Tiruvannamalai will operate on December 12, 13, 14, and 15, departing at 9:15 PM and arriving at 10:45 PM. The return service from Tiruvannamalai to Villupuram will run on December 13, 14, 15, and 16, starting at 3:30 AM and reaching Villupuram at 5:00 AM.
The MEMU Express will have 8 cars and stop at Venkatesapuram, Mambalapattu, Ayandur, Tirukoilur, Adichchanur, Andampallam, and Tandarai. These special trains are expected to provide significant convenience to devotees and festival attendees traveling to Tiruvannamalai for the celebrations. Passengers are advised to make use of this service for a smooth and comfortable journey during the festive period.
