The implementation of the breakfast scheme by the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. MK. Stalin has borne fruits now.
The Chennai Middle School belonging to Triplicane in Chennai had a special guest on Friday and it was none other than the minister for youth welfare and sports development, Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin. The minister mentioned that there has been an increase of atleast 30% to 40% in the students attendance after the implementation of the breakfast sceme.He hinted that as many as 65030 more students would be benefited by the expansion of the breakfast scheme in the Chennai based corporation schools.
Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin spoke about how in the first phase 1.5lakhs students studying from class1 to 5 in 1968 schools were given breakfast under the scheme.
Motto behind the breakfast scheme:
The main aim of this breakfast scheme is to increase the students` attendance in the corporation schools in Chennai and provide nutritious food for them. There has been an increase of 30% to 40% in the students` attendance now. It is superb to note that in TN atleast 18.50lakhs students would benefit from this scheme. Information collected is that frequent inspections would be carried out in the corporation schools in Chennai.
An App available now for monitoring:
To keep an eye on food transportation and quality etc, school principals would have access to an app now. They could raise complaints whenever needed and it would be addressed immediately.. It must be taken into account that a total of 35 kitchen centers would operate in Chennai for this breakfast scheme.
