2702 train coaches manufactured in ICF Chennai in the financial year 2022-23!

A record has been achieved at the Integrated Coach Factory (ICF), located in Perambur, Chennai Metro City, where a total of 2,702 train coaches, including 2,261 LHP coaches, were manufactured in the financial year 2022-23.
Since its inception in 1955, the Integral Coach Factory has manufactured over 500 coaches with different designs and more than 70,000 coaches. Under the project "Train-18," world-class train coaches are being manufactured for the Vande Bharat superfast trains, covering various cities in India.
During the two-year coronavirus pandemic period in 2020-21, the manufacture of train coaches was reduced. Subsequently, once the raging coronavirus pandemic abated, the production rate was increased, and during the financial year 2021-22, 3,101 train coaches were manufactured.
In the financial year 2022-23, the Integrated Coach Factory (ICF) manufactured 2,702 train coaches, including two air-conditioned coaches for electric trains, eight normal non-air-conditioned coaches for suburban electric trains, three coaches for long-distance electric trains, 12 Vande Bharat trains, 2,261 SHP advanced modern train coaches, seven coaches for diesel-engine-driven trains, and five accident care train coaches.
The General Manager of the Integrated Coach Factory (ICF) in Perambur, Chennai Metro City, congratulated and praised the performance of the ICF staff and officers on this record-breaking achievement.
