Good News: No need for Smart Card to procure a train ticket!

The facility of a self-vending machine has been introduced in the Railway Stations for getting the unreserved train travel ticket.
Recharging can be done through this machine by using a smart card!
This self-vending machine has now been installed on a trial basis at Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram and other important railway stations.
It has been informed that this would be installed on all other railway stations with heavy congestion.
Given the above situation, it is now informed by Southern Railway that a smart card is no longer needed to procure the train ticket!
Tickets can now be obtained from the self-vending machines for getting suburban train tickets. Download the UPI App and the facility is there to make the payment through a QR code.
Southern Railway has decided to install the 254 modified self-vending machines in all of its 6 Divisions!
